Sunset 5 October - Arthur Tonkinson
Windy and rain (squalls).
28/10/21
Looking out across the East of the city the lights of cars and traffic twinkled and travelled past way below and the lights on the Humber moved across the river reminding me of how busy life is and how rare these moments of stillness are

The sky was so many shades as the sun went down: pink, orange, purple, grey, orange. At one point the clouds formed a whale with one eye looking over Hull.

It was a beautiful moment. The sun came out and shone on the rooftops and with some night dew they glistened and the light was spectacular from this unique angle.

The bright sun amongst the clouds to the west with a fabulous view of the Bridge and the Wolds beyond. A look to the east saw a growing rainbow and the distant wind turbines.

So great to see the city wake up to a beautiful sunrise.

I’m grateful for the time, place and space to observe our magnificent city.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking 60 minutes of complete mindfulness to watch over the city and be reminded what a stunning place Hull really is
25/10/21
It takes a few minutes to clear your head of everyday thoughts and to get over the excitement of seeing familiar places from such a vantage point.

The seagulls carry the stories from the sea . . . I love that sound.

On first arriving in the box, the first thing that hits you is the sight of the city all laid out and looking amazing.
25/10/21
Thank you to all involved for this wonderful opportunity to watch my city awaken and get ready for the day ahead.
25/10/21
The complex city, the hubbub of our lives played out during rush hour marking the close of another day.
25/10/21
It was an inspiring and humbling experience to peep on the people and the city below.
25/10/21
I feel incredibly lucky that the wind and rain disappeared and I had a beautiful evening to watch the sunset.
25/10/21
Very windy morning, waiting with anticipation and trepidation of what was going to happen.
21/10/21
I was really looking forward to the sunset vigil and I wasn’t disappointed.
21/10/21
I approached this with very little expectation of what it would be like or how I would feel during the hour I was in there.
