Sunset 27 July 2021 - NICOLA BRYANT
I didn’t enjoy the experience at all. Whether it was the murky, dark evening or the current times I am not sure . . . but rather than feel protective, I felt very voyeuristic – judgmental even.

A bit hazy to the east but a lovely clear morning to the west. I am wondering if it is too early to feel emotional!

What would have been my Grandpa’s 102nd birthday. Watching the sun set over the city that has been my family’s home for the past two hundred years or so seemed like a fitting tribute.

Wow. How much time do we actually have when we’re not clock watching and just enjoying moments? Watching the City begin to come to life this morning was a real joy, looking out at familiar landmarks/buildings and watching the river whilst the sun rises! We take a lot for granted.

A beautiful, surreal and serene experience. I had not realised the beautiful and eclectic mix of architecture and buildings around the city. It was so calm, could only hear the seagulls and a few cars about

Absolutely amazing! The beautiful, bright red sun, when it first came up, was like an eye waking up to watch over the Earth. It made me think about early religions and why they worshipped the Sun.

Wow. What an extraordinary experience! Time went so fast – I’d thought it would drag but the half hour check seemed to come so quickly!

What a revealing experience – completely unexpected and a revelation about the surprising places your mind can drift.

Looking at a city that I’ve lived in for most of my life from an angle that I never have was really special.

A tale of one city in two halves. To the east a tapestry of roof tops and colour in adverts and wall art.

Wonderful to see the signs of life between the still buildings.
Loved watching the ferry move across into the horizon.

A really peaceful and calming experience. I loved the view of the sunrise and how impossible to see that the sun is staying still and we are moving.

Wow! What an amazing experience. It was a real privilege to watch the sun set on my amazing city on my last birthday in my 30s.

It’s hard to stay present and just observe, even when the most beautiful sunrise should compel you to let go of your thoughts and just take it in.
15/08/21
A glorious evening, the views are spectacular! Makes you grateful to be alive and thankful for such wonders!

What a joy it is to have choice! To choose an hour of isolation was pure joy. But to be separated from loved ones as I and so many have over this past year has been wretched!
15/08/21
The feeling of peace was the most surprising thing for me.
To watch my adopted home close down for the evening was a real privilege and a memory to treasure.

When you see the sun rising it is for all: the community, birds, animals.
Doesn’t rise for one. It is for all: Christians, Muslims, Hindus, all religions, all people!

It always amazes me just how small and flat Hull is to be a perfect cycling city, seeing the contrasts between Hull’s history and Hull’s future towards a digital future!

I’ve seen the sunrise but never watched it.
I don’t think I’ve ever watched the city!
