Sunset 6 December - Gillian Osgerby

It has been grey, wet and overcast all day and I’ve been watching the sky hoping it would clear.  My first impression walking out to the pod was the incredible view and the new perspective it gave to look over the city.  I am a Project Manager for Hull City Council so I started by thinking about the view it gave me on the projects I’m lucky enough to work on – Hull Maritime Museum, Queen’s Gardens, Guildhall Time Ball and North End Shipyard.  The longer I stood, the more I thought about how my work connects me to this wonderful city – I could see silhouettes of vehicles passing over the Humber Bridge, how closely our city is connected to the water and how beautiful the historic buildings are.  I was so lucky that the longer I stood the more the sky cleared to reveal a full moon lit up bright orange from the setting sun.  The skyline went from blue, to purple, to yellow, to orange and was really mesmerising.  It was a wonderful and relaxing experience that I won’t forget.
