Sunset 16 April - Neil Nicklin
First thing for me was it was unusual in this day to not have a device where others could contact me. A whole hour for me! Lots of things to see initially, eyes and thoughts all over the place. I noticed a homeless person setting up their makeshift bed for the night. Struggling in the wind. He caught me looking, gave me a wave. I waved back. He got under his sleeping bag and I was his guardian for the next hour or so. I then reflected on others less fortunate. The Ukrainian flag flew from The Guildhall. I feel for those poor people caught up in conflict. The hospital stands tall to the West of the city. I thought about those people spending the night there. To the East there was cladding works on the hotel. I thought about the Grenfell fire and the horrific accident a few years back. The P and O Ferry leaves for Holland. I watch it sail out of the Humber. I feel for those seamen and women who recently lost their jobs. Back West I see a couple of lads doing exercise in Queen’s Gardens; they remind me to do my own exercise! Before I knew, my time is done! Thank you!
