Having an opportunity to watch over the City as it wakes was an honour and privilege.

A City that has seen change over the years, a city that is struggling to survive like many but still has a beating heart to fight on.

Not being from Hull but being my home for 16 years, you allowed me to watch over you as the day dawns.  What will today bring?  What a year it’s been and what a future it will hold – you have a story to be told as the years pass by you will unfold and grow with the people you hold.

Hull, that’s my City.  No place like home.
