Sunrise 15 March - Beth Goddard

The city wakes in a golden glow and, when you watch it, the sun rises quickly.  I noticed so many things that I’ve never seen from the ground.  The God with their trident, lion by their side.  Green domes on buildings I’ve never noticed before.  Words on the ground that I may have walked over a hundred times but never noticed were there.

I was struck too by the snake of ever-moving traffic across the Humber Bridge.  I imagined it connected to the flow of cars, lorries, vans heading to and from the docks.  Shadows stretched as the city came to life, the sun now high in the sky as I look out of the window while writing this.
