Sunset 8 November - Gill Blacksell

Wonderful.  Very peaceful.  You certainly don’t feel like master of all you survey, you feel like a very small cog in a very large wheel.  You realise how much the city has grown and progressed in my lifetime (82 years).  You look at Siemens and how it’s the future and how climate change may affect us.  I saw groups of students heading home and wondered how life will treat them.  Others were heading home in buses and cars and you wonder what they’re going home to.  My home was always a very safe place but it isn’t for everyone.  I saw ambulances and police on blue lights and wondered about the outcomes.  You think about past generations and what they would make of life here now.  I feel optimistic – mankind is very creative and resilient.  I’m so glad I did it.  I’ve had two fairly major operations in the past two years and am so grateful that I got the opportunity.
