Sunset 30 June 2021 - SARAH GREENLEY
I started my vigil towards the East, watching the Rotterdam Ferry sail past Paull Lighthouse before disappearing towards Spurn. The views were surprising, with odd city aspects completely obscured, letting unfamiliar buildings and sights become familiar. A glimpse of the River Hull between buildings, a small flock of starlings searching for somewhere to roost. Below me, old train carriages being restored and police cars racing by. The sunset came suddenly – the sun appearing below the clouds for its final descent behind the Wolds. This felt magical – being a city dweller, only the lucky few can observe the final moments of the day directly.
