Sunset 22 October - Chris Shepherd

My bird’s eye view of my home city showed me sights and sounds of people’s commute from work.  Either from East or West and North and South and in between.

The sun slowly set through the light clouds across the Humber.  And I saw the raising and falling of the “Moon” :)

The different colours and shapes of the buildings, old and new were like a jigsaw.  I watched the vapour trails of planes taking their cargo to far off places.  I thought of the Air Raid Wardens from WWII, scanning the horizon for enemy planes.  Protecting the city.

The Vigil will stay with me for the rest of my life.
