Sunset 16 February - Sue Lee

Apparently I am a first!  Storm Dudley curtailed my vigil in the box.  After a short period I was escorted back into the main building for safety reasons – consistent winds above 13.4 metres per second.  I continued my vigil from the west-facing window of the College.  Driving rain meant I could see little on the ground so I focussed on the sky.  The mass of dark grey clouds were moving at such a pace from west to east and then suddenly a little hole of clear blue sky appeared over the Humber Bridge, which only moments before had not even been visible.  The whole sky seemed to open up on the horizon and the grey clouds evaporated and burnt orange and then pink ones replaced them.  An hour previously I didn’t imagine I would see anything let alone a sunset.  The whole experience felt very ‘other worldly’.  Not quite the complete experience I was imagining but a special one nonetheless.
