Sunset 10 January - James Daniel

How can an hour in a small shelter yield so many different experiences?  Lots of micro moments of realisation.  Watching the contrasts and juxtapositions: organic and inorganic, new and old, old and young, fast and slow, to name just a few.  Realising that you’d lost yourself to the gentle background hum of city life until jolted out by a distant siren or the deafening roar of fighter jets overhead.  Realising you’ve become utterly engrossed in following the journey of the young student that has broken for freedom from the college building and fully sprinted until out of sight.  Watching pedestrians disappear behind the statue and wondering when they will reappear and where they might be heading.  Time appearing to move both quickly and slowly.  Some experiences already forgotten.  But yet somehow memorable.
