Sunset 1 April - Joy Toogood

Peaceful, sunset over my adopted city.  Such a variety of architecture and so much green.  Watching boats travel down the Humber and the sun shining through shower clouds.  Lots of graffiti along the River Hull and a huge collection of wheelie bins.  Couldn’t decide which was Blaydes House.  Sunshining on the Venn Bridge – such vivid greens.  It was weird being up at the same level as the seagulls.  Watching the ripples on the ponds on Queen’s Gardens and the ducks swimming around.

So many roofs – the History Centre like a giant bug!  And HRI looks so narrow, where I spent most of my working life.  The Humber Bridge in the distance, remember cycling down every week from Hull to watch it being constructed.

The hour went so quickly, more folks appeared as it became later, wonderful cloud shapes.  Saw the roof of Hull Prison, green in the distance.

Certainly an experience, never done before but it was well worth it and one I shall never forget.  Wish I could have told mum and dad about it, they used to visit for a week every summer.
