Sunrise 7 January - Wendy Williamson

A freezing cold January morning, dark, stormy and a squally shower hit the East window as my Vigil began.  I was extremely lucky to witness a beautiful, fully rounded sun as it rose over the horizon at the mouth of the Humber!  The edge of the ‘Squall’ clouds kept away from the sunrise area.  I felt very emotional at how ‘Mother Nature’ had allowed me to view such an amazing sight!

I so enjoyed standing as tall as William Wilberforce and gazing over the city while watching the dark, heavy clouds blow away and the sun giving light to the city of Hull.

I was very aware how the River Humber flows along the full length of the city and looking down onto the Zen Bridge how the water infiltrates the city – we are certainly a ‘city of water’!!

Thank you for the privilege of my Vigil – a wonderful memory to pass on to my grandchildren!
