Sunrise 5 December - Lyz Turner

Heavy, overcast sky full of rain.  I was drawn to the eastern window, the changing colour of the river from dull to silver grey then a dusky pink patch as the sun struggled behind the dense bank of cloud.  A ship heading for sea serenely glid through grey, silver, pink and blue as it made its way across the eastern window.  I look at all the places my grandparents and parents would have known, where the barges and wharfs sat and also the many places through the western window, new flats, offices, even parks, they would never have seen.

A magical experience.  Thank you very much.  The time was irrelevant, only marked by a constant drip of water which mimicked a ticking clock.
