Sunrise 20 February - Gracie Harvey

Watching the city wake up on a Sunday morning from above.  What a surreal experience.  No other sound but the wind and the birds in the brief moments the wind calmed down.   

As the time passed I watched how more people emerged.  The people passing, the clouds moving, wind gusting, all whilst I stayed completely still. 

We’re all so used to speeding through life, thinking about the continuous list of things we’ve got to get done.  But not this morning.  It was peaceful.  All I could think was how lucky I am to call this place ‘home’. 

Just before I left, the sun made an appearance through the clouds, the wind died down, and the ferry came into dock.  What a way to start the day.
