Sunrise 14 April - Eliza Whitaker

An hour.  An hour to stand and watch as the city awakens.  An hour to be alone, with nothing but my thoughts and the seagulls.  The city is noisy; my mind, as it turns out, is quiet.  I am surprised at how quick the sunrise was.  Then I wonder at how long it then takes to arc to sunset.  I see a Ferry.  It turns slowly to stop and let off passengers.  The Sun has risen and my vigil is over.
