Sunrise 13 January - Rebecca Johns-Bielby

For me, the shelter was ten steps front to back.  I was surprised how such a short distance could generate such a different perspective.  The front, overlooking the city centre is landmarks, architecture, gardens and expensive apartment blocks whilst the back is industry, traffic, haze and graffiti.  Two sides of the same place.  I felt I gravitated towards the back which I was not expecting.  It was warmer and brighter, both physically (the front vent was blowing a gale) but also visually.  This was helped by the gorgeous sunrise visible over the water but I think also because it seemed more authentic, grassroots Hull, not just the bits they stick on the Welcome signs.
