Sunrise 10 January - Rachael Foster

Everything is moving but the river looks still.  The sky shimmering with silver, pink and gold.

It looks so busy down there, stop a minute and look – we’re moving too fast.  All those people down there, that’s me this morning; filled with a sense of self and importance for the task ahead.

Hold on, movement.  The sun is popping up and oh what a greeting.  Everything is becoming more golden and the surrounding areas purple and blue is now shining through.

Now there is movement.  It moves so fast and I can’t look for too long because my eyes can’t see.

Then still.  It’s hiding behind the clouds.

Still shining bright and casting shadows of radiance – I can still see you.

What light do we shine?  Do we keep shining when our light is blocked?  I hope so.
