Sunrise 1 June 2021 - Caron Mincke

I almost made myself sick with excitement thinking about the vigil.  Imagine my disappointment when all I could see was fog.  What was I going to do for an hour?  An hour wasn’t long enough for me.  It wasn’t about the big picture.  I looked at the smaller details.  (I couldn’t see anything else.) The fox cutting across the college grounds, the ducks on the pond in Queen’s Gardens, the bumble bee trying not once but twice to join me inside.  My memories of Hull came flooding back.  I really didn’t need to see it.  My imagination ran wild with smugglers in the mist and dangerous liaisons.  I really didn’t need to see the sunrise.  I saw much more.  Thank you.
