I was struck that while no one really knew I was there, I was part of keeping the chain of watching over the city in love and prayer which actually felt an important privilege.

If prayer keeps us aware, compassionate and stirs us into action to support then I hope the chain continues. I felt that this art installation has maybe tapped into an unseen chain that has been present for many, many years. 

Today the sky was so clear!  The moon was big and clear when I went out to the shelter and at points the sunrise was so bright I had to turn away – and at that point got to appreciate how beautiful it was reflecting on the city. 

I wonder if all those people I saw getting on with their ordinary days were aware of the light and the fact that they are being watched over in love.
