Sunrise 10 February - Sue Pizzey

The wind howls, the gulls cry.  This is MY city.  I look to the industrial east and it is flat.  The traffic is flowing, people on their way to – anywhere.  To the west, the land rises to the Wolds.  In between all this is the central part of the city, new and old, green and more colourful in parts.  It has a more placid feel.  The dock that became a park.  I look at the history that surrounds all of this and I feel proud to be just one very small part of it.  What will be our future?  That is for those who come after us, it is ever moving.  Nothing remains the same forever.

Many thanks to the Vigil for allowing me to think about MY city from a different perspective.  Incredible!

Thank you to Meg, my Companion, for her patience.
